I often get asked about which practice/learning books I recommend, so I've decided to make a list here with links to purchase. Please note that I receive a commission from any purchases made using these links.
Faber My First Piano Adventure - Lesson Book A Pre-Reading

Faber's primer pre-reading book is designed for the youngest students with a passion for music. Starting with finger exercises to build up muscle strength, co-ordination and learn how to identify different fingers by number, this book is full of fun songs that are all written off the staff.
Faber Piano Adventures - Lesson Book Primer Level

This book is perfect for the young beginners. With songs that start off the staff and basic theory being introduced, I love using this book for students ages 5-6 who are ready to dive into learning fun songs that will get their fingers moving.
Faber Piano Adventures - Lesson Book Level 1

For students age 7-13, I highly recommend the Fabel Level 1 Lesson book. It's broken up into sections based on which skills you'll be learning, and most songs include theory excerpts interspersed on the page so that students can understand each new concept as it relates to the song. All of the songs are fun and interesting, perfectly designed for younger beginners.
Faber Piano Adventures - Older Beginner - Lesson Book Level 1

This is easily one of the best books I've found for the older beginner. I use this book with teens and adults, and it's a great way to learn the basics while learning more mature songs. There's a large range of genres, which I find with all of the Faber series books, and theory concepts incorporated again with each new song.
Christopher Norton Connections 1 - Repertoire for Piano

For the students looking for a different style of songbook, I love Christopher Norton's Connections series. These songs are slightly more advanced and jump right into longer, entertaining songs. While there are no theory excerpts in this book, the songs are designed to be based on patterns and include many interesting rhythm sections.
