Spring Newsletter 2025

Spring has arrived and with it comes new energy and opportunities for growth! I’m incredibly proud of the progress my students have made this year so far, and I have some exciting updates and important information to share with you in this newsletter.

New Piano Announcement

I'm so excited to announce that I've purchased a piano! My new piano arrived safely Saturday morning and is scheduled for a tuning later this week. This beautiful addition to my studio will provide the students an opportunity to enjoy playing on a high-quality instrument. As this is an older piano, it is more delicate than my previous one and it's important to be gentle with it so that it stays in good condition. I've included a few reminders of how to properly treat a piano for you to review with your kids. These will also be reviewed in class.

For the well-being of the piano, it's important to keep it clean. Dirt and debris can get between the keys and into the piano, damaging the hammers inside. I'll be asking students to sanitize their hands before playing to ensure it's continued cleanliness.

When playing, always use your fingertips to press the keys gently. Avoid banging or striking them too hard and let the piano sing with a controlled touch.

Please avoid leaning or placing heavy objects on the piano.

The piano is not a toy. It's an instrument that is played by me, you and my many other students. All pianos require proper treatment, care and respect.

Thank you for doing your part to take care of the piano! If you have any further questions about proper piano care, feel free to reach out.

Spring Recital Announcement

Preparations for the Spring Recital are officially underway! This is always a highlight of the year and I can’t wait to see the students showcase their hard work and musical progress. In the coming weeks, students will begin preparing the pieces they’ll perform. I’ll be offering extra guidance during lessons to ensure they’re ready for the big day. I encourage all students to participate, regardless of skill level, as it’s a wonderful opportunity for them to build confidence, perform in front of an audience and celebrate their musical achievements.

Once I've finalized the date, time and location, I will be sending out more information. Be on the lookout for that email within the next few weeks! I’m looking forward to this memorable event.

I'd love to hear your feedback!

If you and your child/ren have been enjoying their piano lessons and are happy with the progress they’re making, I’d be so grateful if you could take a moment to share your experience with others by leaving a review on my Facebook page. Positive reviews help spread the word and allow more families to discover the joy of piano lessons!

The Importance of Practicing Piano & How To Encourage Your Child

Frequent practice is the key to making progress on the piano. It helps students develop their skills, build muscle memory and grow more confident in their playing. Practicing piano is essential in order for students to achieve the musical goals we set together. Here are a few ways you can encourage your child to practice and make it a fun, rewarding part of their routine.

Set a Consistent Practice Time: Establish a daily routine. Having a specific time each day to practice can help make it a habit. Even 20-30 minutes a day can make a huge difference!

Be Supportive and Encouraging: Offer words of encouragement and praise. Positive reinforcement goes a long way in building their confidence and enthusiasm. If possible, eliminate distractions to help your child focus while practicing.

Make it Fun: Practice doesn’t always have to be serious! Ask your child to put on a concert for you. This is a great way to become a part of their musical journey and foster a deep love of music.

Remember, progress takes time and patience is key. Your support and involvement will inspire them to stay motivated and committed to their practice!

Thank you once again for your continued support of your child’s musical journey. It’s a privilege to watch them grow and develop their love for music. As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions. Wishing you a wonderful Spring season!
